Ben Pollock MBA
Ben emigrated with his family from the UK in 2011. He has a graduate certificate in management a graduate diploma in management and completed his Masters in business administration. When in England, after a successful career as an amateur Jump jockey, which included wins at the prestigious Cheltenham festival, he embarked on a training career in partnership with his wife Nikki.They trained a string of forty horses successfully, with Ben running the business side of the operation.Upon arriving in Australia, where Nikki had family, they soon got involved in running companies related to the racing industry, from farriers through to agistment yards.
It soon became apparent that there were a number of trainers, who although good at their job training horses, were struggling with the practicalities of running a business.A good friend and trainer who was under pressure, asked Ben to give an overview of his business. Ben took on the running of it and soon transformed it from running in the red to making a profit and this enabled growth. The trainer soon started training winners when allowed to concentrate on just the horses, and leave the remainder to Racing Management Services.
Ben understands the reality of the job and the stresses and strains of dealing with staff and owners. He also understands the fact that the business often has to make deals and carry stock, so as to continue to grow and the effect this can have on cash flow. All of the current trainers enjoy having a different perspective of their business, fresh ideas and the pros and cons of different strategies pointed out to them. Although racehorses are your owners hobby, it is your business and therefore has to be approached in that way.
Kim Norris
Kim comes from an equine background having represented Australia in carriage driving. She also has a detailed knowledge of accounts administration .
Kim has been trained in not only using Ardex but also the accounts programs Xero and MYOB. She provides a great link between accountants and their clients.
Kim not only deals with the racehorse trainers but also the jockeys and transport companies that are clients of ours.
Jo Corry
Jo has a strong history of both administration and accounts, with a focus on attention to detail and excellence in customer service. Jo is very experienced in using the accounts management program Ardex.
Being born with a passion for horses, she has been a keen horse rider from a very early age. She owned her first horse at age 12 and has owned horses ever since.She was a competitive member of Marion Riding Club from the age of 12 and is still a current riding member with the club also competing at local hack shows and dressage events.
As a Level 2 coach of Riding for the Disabled for many years, she was involved in coaching the South Australian dressage team which travelled to Queensland in the early 1990’s. Jo’s interest and knowledge of horses, as well as a background in accounts, makes her position with Racing Management Services a lifestyle passion rather than just a job.
Nikki Pollock
Nikki emigrated to Australia from the Uk with Ben and their two boys. Having been brought up with horses, Nikki ran their racing yard of 40 horses and organised the staff. Nikki is often answering the calls outside the office hours, booking last minute flights or assisting trainers with the day to day scenarios that occur
Sharon Watson
Sharon has been in the administration/bookkeeping industry for most of her life; She is experienced in a variety of accounting programs, such as Xero, MYOB, Cash Flow Manager and Quickbooks. She also is proficient in many other business applications such as Receipt bank and Office 365.
Holly Lewis
Holly rode trackwork for 15 years for several leading trainers, including Lee Freedman, Anthony Cummings, Peter Moody, Chris Waller, and Darley. She is also a proficient dressage rider at a high level. Holly is always on hand answering the phone and helping both clients and owners with any enquiries that they have.
Ren Dizon
Ren has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy and is fluent in several accounting programs. Ren specializes in payroll and collects and processes all the information to complete this task for all our clients each week.
Mirachelle Galang
Mirachelle has a Bachelor of Science in business administration and management accounting. Mirachelle is responsible for inputting data into the various accounting programs to ensure correct invoicing and report producing.
Gelline Crabajales
Gelline has a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. Gelline collects and enters data for all our clients to ensure correct invoicing come the end of the month.
